I will be giving a talk, “Dancing Democracy: Empathy and Community in Bill T. Jones’s Community Work,” for the Five Colleges on Thurs. 10/29/20 at 7pm EST. If you are affiliated with Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, or UMass-Amherst, please do join me!
With Dr. Donatella Galella, I am currently co-organizing anti-racism workshops for the American Theatre and Drama Society (ATDS) as a member benefit. So far we have facilitated workshops with Dr. Koritha Mitchell (“Anti-Racist Approaches and Practices), Dr. Claire Syler (“Agitating Whiteness From Where You Are”), and upcoming from Dr. Brian Herrera. Dr. Syler’s workshop is on October 30th from 3-4:30pm EST. Please join us! Membership in ATDS is currently pay-what-you-can, and you can join or renew here.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, auditions will be virtual this year for UB’s MFA in Dance. Because we cannot welcome prospective students to campus, we are offering “A Week in the Life of an MFA,” a week-long slate of graduate courses the week of 11/9/20 that applicants are warmly encouraged to attend, culminating in an information session and Q&A about the program with faculty and current MFA students. Join us and share with interested folks! Registration for this programming is here. The deadline for fall 2021 applications is 12/15/20 for full financial consideration.
